In 2004 my friend Hannah and I became the world’s first professional mermaid’s. In 2006 I went on to create the world’s very first ever mermaid fin and launched my Byron Bay born brand Mahina Mermaid.

Throughout this wild voyage across uncharted oceans, I have experienced both sunny sailing days where I felt like I was touching the sky… as well as fierce storms and squalls that have left me staring straight into the blithering unknown.. on the edge of obliteration. Along my way, I have redefined what success and failure mean to me.  I've learnt that my successes and failures do not define me. They have nothing to do with who I am and my value as a human being. I, like you, was born with the sum total of my soul and how I, like you, will die with the same amount.. While we are here, there is nothing we can do to acquire more of it.. and there is nothing we can do to lose any of it.. If there was anything I could whisper back to my younger self - setting out on her voyage, it would be something like this – “If you want to share your heart and gifts with the world, if you have a vision or a dream you want to contribute - life will conspire tremendous unexplainable amounts of miraculous serendipity in order to lift, support, and carry you deeper into your mission. It will leave you with not a scarce of doubt that this is who you are and
 what you're supposed to be doing in the world.
But... head towards the arena knowing that all heartfelt intentions, passion, integrity and dedication aside.. these will not keep you immune, from the fact that you are going to get your ass seriously kicked!! You may win and you may lose, there are no guarantees, recipes or formulas of your success - and yes you can fail – and IT’S NOT PERSONAL!!
 When your in that wrestle with life asking why it has forsaken you, remember that life isn't out to get you or punish you.. it’s just the weather outside... It’s about how you rise and stand again and take ownership of your autonomous BEING and your own internal weather... If you take it, this call to the adventure, you will be challenged to grow in ways you never thought possible ... AND... it will be the making of you. 
If this is your compass when setting out on your voyage - inner success, becoming who you really are, is guaranteed. It is something only you can attain and no one has the authority or power to take away from you.... You are both the Mermaid and the Voyager and both will guide you home...
