I had a moment when I was an activist, I was sitting on a tripod, for this big forest thing and I was about to get arrested. I remember looking down and there was all my mob on one side and all the lobbers on the other side and they all looked quite similar (apart from the hair). They all loved the bush, they all valued the bush, they were all in a way living off the bush, the main difference really was the different value they put on a tree. The greenie valued it alive and the logger valued it as wood, it struck me then that if we won (which we did in that particular battle) we would just constantly be fighting the same battle. It made me think about what cooperation looks like as opposed to competition, that’s what I am really interested in. How can we do cooperation? How can we get those communities together?
